When it comes to relationships, the longer you know the other person, the more trust can develop. As long as the person is fair with you and doesn’t do anything wrong or underhand, your trust will naturally increase. Now what if I told you that Google works in the same way?
When we talk about trust through age, we’re talking about the indexed age of a page (e.g. the time since Google originally found you, but more importantly, what has happened since Google first discovered your website or page.
Authority relates to the link profile of any site, but not just the number of links, that bears little importance. It’s about quality links and how many of them were discovered over time. Was it unnatural or organic? Are the links coming from trusted sources with good IP diversity? Do they continually come from one source? Authority is created over time and cannot be rushed. Quality links from relevant external sources acts as a trust signal to Google. The more of these your site or page has, the more Google sees how others trust your knowledge, thus trusts you more.
